Farewell.. and Beware!
Posted: September 23, 2015

“Well, mates… S’been a dandy go, but I must bid ye adieu. Th’ work’s appreciated n’all, truly, n’sorry fer th’ family snits, right bother weren’t they?”

As the day comes to a close, Jack leans against the side of the Black Pyre and exhales all his troubles. Even though it’s been a few days since the conclusion of the Pit battles, exhaustion still seems to roll off of Jack. He squints up at the dark sails billowing above his head as the Black Pyre creaks in appreciation, glad to once again sail the seas, and anticipating more adventures ahead.

“Until next time, me hearties!”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have you been diving in the pit, for our chance at glowsticks or a Sango Reef Brochure?
These fine tomes are available in there as well!
But beware mates.... seems like that dragonfish wasn't entirely run off!
If the dragonfish is guarding the cave, beware and swim away!
If you see that the cave is unguarded, feel free to swim in and retrieve the treasure waiting within.
When open, members may dive every 20 mins while champions may dive every 15 mins.
A Promise
Posted: September 20, 2015
Cordelia feels like she's been searching everywhere before she realizes she's failed to check out the most obvious location. When she finds who she's been looking for, she drags her fingers through her hair. It's nice to be surprised for a change.
"I have to admit," Cordelia says, forcing herself to sound extra cool, "I would never have expected you to come here on your own." In the ensuing silence, her gut lurches when Anemone doesn't immediately turn around to face her. But soon, the kelpie snaps out of her reverie and digs through her bag, paying no mind to the fey peering over her shoulder. When Anemone finally shifts to face Cordelia, it's difficult to read her expression. This right now is one of those situations, Cordelia thinks, where a sickly blue glow would be a very useful light. She can almost hear the faint roaring in the distance that would go with the glow, but she dismisses it as combat fatigue.
Anemone takes a quick step forward and lifts her arms over Cordelia's head; instinctively, Cordelia bows her head slightly and closes her eyes. She feels the brush of soft cloth and fingers brush against her ears and cheeks. Just as quickly as she came forward, Anemone steps back. Cordelia looks down at her chest, dumbfounded by Anemone's gift.
"After all the time I've spent on this," she murmurs, reverent; Cordelia has to strain her ears to hear her, "I've come to realize that it was always for you." Despite the chill near the mouth of the pit, Cordelia feels a gentle warmth; without asking, she can tell that Anemone feels it too. In the silence, drawn out but not uncomfortable, Anemone catches sight of the shadow of Cordelia's ship. It's good then, she thinks, it's good that I finished on time.
"I'll visit when I can. At least once a year." When her gaze returns to Cordelia's face, Cordelia cants her head slightly, smiling coyly.
"I'm holding you to that promise," Anemone replies, folding her hands in front of herself; their sudden emptiness leaves her feeling uneasy, but she knows it's only temporary. With a smile lighting up her face, Cordelia gives one last salute before taking off for her ship.
~~~~~~~~~~

As Cordelia's ship lurches forward and moves away, a force of nature just like Cordelia herself, Jack watches with a little bit of pride swelling in his heart. He can't help but feel embarrassed about airing his personal -- he'd even try to call them familial -- affairs to the world, but at the end of the day, he's taken great strides to reconcile. Not only that, but he's gathered a bit of treasure for himself, as well. It's not a bad haul this year.

Remember to visit the giveaway for your very own replica of Blacktusk's rapier! Jack Skillow and his stock will be leaving soon!

Ebb and Flow
Posted: September 19, 2015

Jack Skillow thinks of nothing but the ocean lapping at his toes and the warm sun on his fur; there is nothing more comforting to him than this. He wouldn't give up the Black Pyre for anything, no, but it cannot compare to an afternoon on sun-kissed sand. Plus, it's doing wonders for his bones: he feels as if he was slammed against walls a little too much for his liking in the past week. It's only when Jack hears the muffled thuds of heavy boots on the sandy shore that he opens his eyes.

Cordelia peers down at him and for a moment he sees a smaller face, eyes large with a wonder that rivaled his own. Then in one fluid movement, she unsheathes her weapon. Jack rests his gaze on the nearest piece of kelp. Blacktusk's rapier is as regal looking as ever. Or he supposes that's incorrect: Cordelia's rapier is as regal looking as ever. It was always hers.

"I fixed your mistake," she says simply, squatting next to his stretched out body. "Again."

"T'was always yer job, Delia," Jack answers, nonchalant; it's as true as the ocean is blue. As competent a rival pirate Cordelia may be, Jack thinks she's the only one he can be this relaxed around. Seconds pass; minutes pass. They rest in companionable silence.

"The lengths you went to... to undo your wrong. That was more than I expected of you." When Jack looks over, Cordelia has put away the rapier that once belonged to their mentor; facing the sun, she stretches. "It's a start, what you've done. I can appreciate that." When he says nothing, she glances at him over her shoulder. Jack doesn't try to meet her gaze; he realizes the wound he had inflicted is still rather fresh, and if he wants it to heal, it's better that he does nothing to irritate it. It's fair, he thinks. Jack accepts her decision. Most individuals are complex, and Cordelia does not deviate from that standard. Being a child of the ocean, he thinks she's far more complex than others. He can only abide by the ebb and flow of her words and actions.

Jack closes his eyes again at the crisp sound of a splash. Their paths will cross again.

Overwhelmed by nostalgia, Captain Jack is now offering replicas of the rapier in the giveaway

Constants
Posted: September 18, 2015

Wherever Cordelia, Anemone, and Jack went in the aftermath of yesterday’s final battle, Jack isn’t gone for too long. He returns before the sun has risen and greets his crew warmly.

“I reckon it best to head out before we overstay our welcome,” Jack murmurs, his voice soft and scratchy with sleep (or lack thereof).

Back in Sango Reef, Anemone has also returned. She’s operated her shop sluggishly today. If she closes her eyes, she thinks, she can feel the chilly night air and taste its crispness. It’s a different, but not unwelcome feeling, compared to being home in the reef.

The constants of her life these past couple of weeks have been interrupted, but she doesn’t mind. When she reopens her eyes, her gaze falls behind the counter; the fabric of the unfinished scarf, like the clear night sky, beckons her closer.

An End?
Posted: September 17, 2015

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When the first few Misticans start to make their ways out of the mouth of the Pit, Anemone is sure she feels the entirety of Sango Reef inhale. She feels a gentle paw near her shoulder fin and is surprised, but not really, when she finds Daniel. He nods at her, and with that, she rushes towards the Pit, too.
Coppa and Jack emerge together, supported by one another’s crew and task force; they wobble on their legs and rest off to the side. When Jack feels Anemone’s lingering gaze on him, he looks up and acknowledges her with a mock salute -- what is it with pirates and mock salutes? -- and offers her a reassuring smile.
There’s a silence when Cordelia emerges from the Pit, flanked by her crew. The dull steel of the pieces of Blacktusk’s rapier rests in her hands. She looks around at all the people before her and clears her throat to address them.
“Thank… thank you,” she stammers. Anemone finds it in herself to move again, and Cordelia’s first mate moves aside to make room for her.
“Thank you, all, for your continued efforts in putting the dangerous creatures of the Pit to rest. I can’t begin to express how much gratitude I feel for the kindness you have extended to me, and the love and concern for the wonderful,” Cordelia briefly glances at Anemone,
“... And truly magnificent Sango Reef.”
“Let’s hear it for Captain Cordelia!” shouts Cordelia’s first mate, and both relieved laughter and boisterous cheering erupts out of everyone. Cordelia herself smiles, raising an eyebrow at Anemone.
“I don’t make promises if I don’t plan to keep them…” Cordelia begins but is interrupted by the feel of Anemone’s hand -- clammy -- on her wrist.
“Let’s get this,” the same hand sweeps over the shattered length of the sword, “to someone who can help, hm?”
Captain Jack, the epitome of tact, coughs off to Cordelia and Anemone’s side. Cordelia raises her chin up at him in a challenge, and he flips a piece of eight in his paw.
Anemone laughs, incredulous. This is her life.
Back to the Fight!
Posted: September 17, 2015
The groaning and rumbling from the deepest recesses of the Pit have become more frequent and are now strong enough to disturb residents in buildings far from the Pit, across the reef. Anemone tightens her grip on Cordelia’s armor -- she’s been making progress on it all night, with help from an acquaintance of hers, and she hopes it’ll be more than enough protection.
Cordelia snorts, “If it can withstand how hard you’re hanging on, I’m sure I’ll be fine.” Anemone lets go, embarrassed; she wipes her palms on the front of her dress. When she dares to look up again, Cordelia’s gaze has softened. “You told me awhile ago to be careful, and I made no promises.”
Anemone watches Cordelia expectantly. Jack has already regrouped with Coppa, both suitably equipped in armor similar to Cordelia.
“I’ll make that promise this time,” she says, and then rushes off towards the Pit.
Fighting Continues...
Posted: September 14, 2015
Cordelia and Jack sit with their backs against the wall; there is an intense heat emanating from deeper within the Pit. Jack glances in the direction where the heat feels worse, and Cordelia flicks water at him from her water bottle.
“You’re afraid? Imagine that,” Cordelia laughs; it echoes against the unfriendly stone walls of one of the Pit’s tunnels. It seems that the Pit takes offense to her laughter, as a deep groaning from far ahead shakes the ground they rest on. “We’ve cleared out the area before this point, but I wouldn’t blame you for asking about a tactical retreat.”
It reminds Jack of a simpler time, stargazing during Blacktusk’s era of Black Pyre glory. He stands and offers a paw to Cordelia. She doesn’t hesitate, but she does stare blankly at his paw for a little more than a beat before taking it. He pulls her to her feet.
“Ye be right. Coppa can probably handle it fer now,” he concedes, mirth tickling his tone. They return to the surface, with Anemone’s sharp-toothed grin welcoming them. Cordelia prefers the brightness and pleasant warmth here to the near-hellish temperatures below.
“So I’ve been working on something new…”
Continue your fighting in the pit Misticans, we know many of you are after the shiny avatar and plushie prizes.
Do you Dare?
Posted: September 12, 2015
“Officer,” Jack greets Officer Coppa, quietly.
“Captain,” Officer Coppa returns, nodding tersely.
The large group of Misticans surrounding the two fall silent, but their souls still crackle with excitement. Just as Jack and Coppa prepare their respective forces to penetrate the Pit, the group of Misticans parts, and both the haruba and yehxil are momentarily silent. The parting force reveals itself to be Cordelia!
“Skillow,” she says, effectively ignoring Coppa. Jack can almost taste the venom the way she addresses him. “The enemy of my enemy is my ally, and right now, whatever defeated you… as good a job as it may have done, it is right now my enemy.” The sizeable crowd behind her -- her crew, Jack realizes in surprise -- erupts into cheer and rowdy battle cries. She lifts her hand, and a hush falls over her crew. Jack won’t admit that he’s proud that his fellow first mate commands such respect.
“I’ll be here as well,” Anemone cuts in, and Jack tears his attention away from Cordelia. He won’t admit that he was impressed with her the other day, either. Others would scorn her cheek, but the kelpie has guts. “We’ve got medical supplies and a team ready to make sense of whatever gets thrown our way.”
Jack nods, his heart in his throat, and starts towards the Pit. The thrill from fighting united alongside so many different individuals almost overwhelms him -- but mostly, it spurs him onwards.
Head to the pit, if you dare Misticans. Danger awaits, but you have a great crew assembled to help you out! Coppa, Jack, and Cordelia are willing to join the fray!
An Offer
Posted: September 11, 2015
When Anemone returns to her shop later in the evening, she's just in time to hear, "Delia, what demands be those? Yer lack of compassion bewilders me!" When she hears a -- a battlecry and a hard thud, Anemone forces the door open quickly. Like a stignightus in headlights, Cordelia stares up at Anemone; she has Jack's face pressed against the counter and his hands behind his back. Anemone still sympathizes with her.
"Look," she says, gently prying them apart. "For the rapier, I'll give you something tangible." From a hidden drawer near them, she retrieves a fabric similar to the scarf that Cordelia is interested in. The material is more refined, silkier, but she had set it aside because it felt so bland to work with; it had less character. "This is an expensive fabric, and I can fashion it into whatever you'd like." Anemone doesn't expect Jack to be impressed, so when she meets his eyes and notices them twinkling, she's very surprised.
Jack is about to speak when Cordelia tugs him back up by the back of his shirt. "You will not be taking anything from her, you... you lily-livered--"
"Ye had me at expensive," Jack leans towards Anemone, breaking out of Cordelia's grip. But his brow furrows, and his smirk morphs into a sheepish smile. "Yours truly may have... gone adventurin' with it. Lost it in a scuffle not long ago, wanderin' through th' tunnels nearby..." Jack doesn't even have to complete his thought; Anemone feels that she knows where this is leading, and steps closer into his space to prevent Cordelia from causing him harm. She's gathered that this rapier of Blacktusk's had special value to Cordelia, and that Jack knows just which buttons of hers to press. Unfortunately, letting Cordelia throttle Jack wouldn't get them any closer to finding the rapier.
"Enough!" Cordelia hisses. "Cease with spewin' yer bilge, y'salty, nattering wretch!" When Anemone looks at Jack's face, she gets the idea that he knows he's made things worse. The fey has turned her back to them for now, still cursing Jack in a way that only pirates can. Anemone has to admit that she didn't really think Cordelia was a pirate at first, but hearing her (rightly) spew so much vitriol today... well. She's definitely a pirate. Jack, however, doesn't stop there.
"Deep within be a force o' nature... I saw me life flash before me eye 'n distracted it with Blacktusk's rapier," Jack pauses, clearly not missing the murderous look on Cordelia's face. Anemone thinks he moves closer to her. She moves away from him pointedly. "It, uh... I believe it may not be in one piece. At least I can stand before ye today!"
Cordelia explodes at him, and Anemone again has to step in.
"Cordelia," Anemone says as soon as the fey pauses for air. She's still mumbling under her breath; what she's saying might as well be a completely different language. "Like it or not, he's the only one able to help. Let him."
"Yarr, Delia," Jack places his paw on Cordelia's shoulder, a grin plastered to his face. She shrugs him off and folds her arms. "Keep listenin' t'yer friend. I can help. I'm offerin' ye my help!"
Cordelia jabs a sharp fingernail into Jack's chest. Caught off-guard, Anemone is impressed with her sheer speed. "You'd best make good on your word," she growls at him. Jack salutes her in reply, his grin never once leaving his face.
Reparations
Posted: September 11, 2015
It is rare that there's a morning where Jack Skillow is not the first to rise, but such mornings are not unheard of. It is especially embarrassing however when he is woken up by a ruckus that isn't coming from his crew. He arrives on deck from his quarters in record time to see his men surrounding a familiar face; his suspicions are confirmed.
"You," Cordelia spits. The disdain in her voice is also familiar.
"Where is it?"
"I know not what ye be askin' fer!" Jack claims, willing his stiff limbs to relax. As expected, his former colleague snarls at him. In the split second it takes for her to rush at him, with her blade unsheathed and its edge dangerously close to his bare chest, the point of his own blade threatens to harm her grievously as well. The silence roars in Jack's ears.
"Let me up!"
There's an uproar beyond the circle his men have formed; the distraction is all Cordelia needs to disarm him and shove him onto his belly, the heel of her boot digging into his back. Belatedly, Jack thinks that this is not the best wake up call. From his position on the splintered wooden floorboards, Jack sees a head of teal hair. Cordelia presses harder into his back and soon, a young kelpie stumbles forward, clutching a piece of parchment. Her eyes are wide when she takes in the sight of swords.
"Please," she says, stepping closer to Jack. Or rather, not Jack, but Cordelia. "There's another way." Jack's sense of self-preservation kicks in and he agrees with her. "I don't know everything, but I do know that there has to be another way." The pressure on his back lets up a little bit, enough for Jack to throw his weight to one side and roll away from Cordelia. He doesn't reach for his sword, confident that he has no need.
"First mates," Cordelia growls, the point of her sword narrowly missing his ear, "We were both first mate under Blacktusk. Upon his death we agreed to duel for the Black Pyre. I lost not only the duel but also my eye, and the ship was his to take. It was fair; that is not my grievance." The ship creaks as if echoing its agreement, and Jack finds himself absent-mindedly caressing its aged wood.
"We may be pirates, but Blacktusk taught us respect and honor as well. He willed his rapier to me, and Skillow..." she trails off and Jack cannot suppress a shiver at the venom in her voice. "...did not honor that will, claiming his captaincy rendered that wish null and void. What respect and honor do I owe to scum when he takes what is rightfully mine?"
It goes without saying that Anemone feels in over her head; Reef politics were never her thing, and she never signed up for pirate politics. She opens her mouth to speak, but steels herself and moves closer, her trembling fingers forcing Cordelia to lower her weapon. "It's not that I don't sympathize with you," she murmurs, glancing at Jack with an exasperation that causes Cordelia to snort. "But he knows he's wronged you. Now we all know. Let him make reparations, Cordelia."
Jack can see Cordelia's hesitation and anger in the way her shoulders stiffen; likewise, he can see her agree in the way her shoulders fall the slightest bit. He always did know her tells. When he feels the attention shift to him, he lifts his paws up in surrender, a smile tugging at his lips.
"Yarr, Cordelia, I'll show ye th' best reparations ye've ever seen!"
The Message
Posted: September 10, 2015
“Yes, I’ll see you later. Thank you for lunch, Dan,” Anemone calls after Daniel’s back, waving. She’s about to open the door to her shop when she notices a dirty glass bottle with garbage sticking out of its mouth. Lovely. She’s about to kick it away when she notices writing on the garbage -- the parchment -- and quickly retrieves it, unraveling it to read as soon as she enters.
Anemone doesn’t recognize this handwriting: the penmanship is elegant and not at all flashy; the message itself is short and to the point. She rereads the message once, twice, and swallows down some choice words. In a mix of exasperation and concern, Anemone dumps out the contents of her bag and hastily retrieves a handful of items from the back storage room. She later pauses, for a moment, as she’s about to depart -- and then decides to lock up her store for the day, as well.
With that, Anemone heads for the beach.
At Last!
Posted: September 10, 2015
Jack stands atop the aged coral above the Pit, clearly bewildering the guards stationed at the entrance, and cups his paws around his mouth.
“Ahoy, Sango Reef! I be Jack Skillow, ‘n I have returned to assist ye in yer hour ‘o crisis!”
Confused and irate, reef natives and nosy tourists alike peer out their windows. Jack gestures to the boxes surrounding a bleary-eyed Daniel. Daniel’s face clearly communicates that it is way too early for this.
“Ye be helpin’ wit’ th’ relief effort, correct? Whar be ye honor…” Jack’s eyes catch on a ship in the distance; it is, very much, not the Black Pyre, and he stiffens. He doesn’t know anyone else with a ship that could challenge his own.
With all the clamor and life in Sango Reef right now, maybe you’ve seen a couple of these new faces swimming around?
The Oceanic Shyre has arrived in Mistica!
If the rumor mill is to be believed again -- and it has a pretty decent track record so far -- an uncharacteristically quiet Jack Skillow has been sighted in the reef as well!
Anemone leans back against her counter, nudging Daniel as he swallows down his water. Before them are dozens of boxes, packaged foods and water bottles, and other smaller hygiene items. She’s about to say something when a familiar face enters her store. Anemone meets Cordelia’s eyes, and then glances at Daniel, who raises his eyebrows and smirks.
“Did I walk in on something? This whole part of the world is bustling.”
“Not at all,” Anemone chirps immediately, and Daniel coughs into his water. “We, ah, we were organizing supplies and stock for the people investigating the Pit. It’s our home, and we’re happy others are coming to help… oh, and the inevitable thrill seekers, you know, like the Skillow guy.” Anemone doesn’t miss how the pleasant contentment on Cordelia’s face stiffens, and then darkens.
“So he’s here…” Cordelia mutters, just barely loud enough for Anemone to hear her. She trails off into thought and turns her head towards the door. As she once more faces Anemone, Cordelia puts on her best smile. It doesn’t reach her eyes this time.
“I’m sorry I interrupted, regardless -- I should go. You both are doing excellent work, and I’m sure they’ll appreciate your efforts; they’re very admirable.” Cordelia takes a step back and lifts her hand in mock salute, then turns to leave.
“Cordelia, I--” Anemone again glances at Daniel, who watches her expectantly, and then back towards Cordelia, frozen with her arm on the door. “--think you should be careful. Just in case. There’s a lot of tension building; that’s all.”
Cordelia cants her head in acknowledgment, and the cold on her being slowly melts away as she grins. “I make no promises, Anemone.” With that, she exits.
Anemone can feel eyes on the back of her head. “Dan,” she grunts, gritting her teeth. She hears an amused snort in return.
Breaking News!
Posted: September 8, 2015
Some days are better than others.
Today is not one of those days.
“This is Ken Kratork with updates on the escalating Pit situation in Sango Reef,” the report begins, with extra pause as Ken very noticeably scans the teleprompter. It’s an early day, after all.
“Many citizens and tourists are reporting that they have seen and been approached by several hostile entities originating from deep within the Pit. There is no word yet on, on whether--” Ken shuffles his papers and his brow furrows, probably in frustration about his news station’s state of affairs this morning.
“We now go live to Officer Coppa, who has arrived at the Pit, for comment.”
“We’ve blocked off the area from the rest of Sango Reef,” Coppa states, as if reciting something he’s recently memorized; he is very conspicuously chewing gum. Visibly steeling himself, Coppa continues, “All visitors to the Pit are to stay away for their own safety.”
Oh, well. The Pit was nice while it lasted. Even though it’s under quarantine, at least you can still admire it from afar!
Ahoy!
Posted: September 7, 2015
With all the hubbub and adventure lately, and so close to Pirate Day, Mistica waits with bated breath for the return of Jack Skillow! In the meantime, check out all this pirate-inspired memorabilia!
But what's this? Wait no longer, for Jack has arrived!
Or has he?
Never ones to be outdone by silly fad-inspired novelty, Jack’s crew has already started to distribute their plunder.  Check out the new merchandise!|
There are many questions to be asked, not the least of which is: since when do pirates follow fair and legal business practices? Be sure to check out Sea Witch Wonders, Fish Monger, and Lighthouse Knicknacks for the above items!
But the most pressing question has to be…
...where in Mistica is Jack Skillow?
Friendly Suggestion
Posted: September 6, 2015
The scattered reports are now not so much scattered, as they have begun to flood emergency lines. It is advised that lone visitors stay out of the Pit unless supervised or in the company of larger groups.
A Work in Progress
Posted: September 6, 2015
It’s not like Anemone has been waiting for the stranger to make good on their promise and come back soon. But when she stops by Fresh Seafood and Daniel smiles at her politely, she may get a little over eager and defensively claim that it was an intriguing encounter, that’s all. Awkward doesn’t even begin to describe the resulting silence. Anemone’s not too sure what she has and hasn’t told Daniel yet, either. His smile becomes a confused frown and he eyes her warily, sliding her food across the counter, like it’s all an illegal transaction.
At her storefront, Anemone balances her wallet and meal while fumbling with her keys. Well, she is, until she hears someone approaching, and then she isn’t any more -- but thank Pandoria for plastic wrap. Anemone doesn’t even have to turn around; she instinctively knows who it is. This one has some impeccable timing, she decides, dryly.
“Cordelia.” The stranger offers, trailing behind. Anemone sets her belongings down and switches the lights on, then turns to the stranger. Cordelia. She’ll take that as an introduction.
“Is that all Cordelia has to offer?”
“She…” If Anemone notices Cordelia’s attention focusing behind her, she doesn’t say anything. Maybe Cordelia’s just looking at some of the decorations. “...is just passing through, at the moment. It’s a long moment. Looking for something, you see.”
“Hungry for adventure, huh,” Anemone chuckles, leaning back against the counter. Something complicated hardens the look on Cordelia’s face, and Anemone straightens her posture.
“No.” Cordelia moves closer to the counter, closer to Anemone, and Anemone knows. She just knows what Cordelia’s looking at. “That, there. That scarf, it’s beautiful.” Anemone follows Cordelia’s gaze to the scarf, the work in progress that she’s stuck on: it’s a deep blue, shimmery like the night sky. Anemone had also woven a delicate gold filigree into the fabric, and, she thinks, its twinkling gold compliments Cordelia's eyes. “I’ve never seen anything like it before. Is that for sale?”
“It’s actually,” Anemone hesitates, her voice growing soft, and meets Cordelia’s eyes again. “It’s a project… not ready. Not yet.” Something in her doesn’t like the brief disappointment that colors Cordelia’s features. “But when it is, I’ll let you know. Myself, personally,” she adds rather lamely. She knows she’s said sort of the right thing when Cordelia’s very being glows with excitement once again.
“Yes. Please,” she breathes, and then she leans over the counter to try to get a better look at the scarf. “I’ll be back, yes.” Cordelia looks over her shoulder back at Anemone. “I’m sorry, where are my manners? I never asked for your name.”
For a moment, Anemone is pleased about the future visits. She almost forgets the question. Then she almost forgets her name.
“Anemone.”
Words of Advice
Posted: September 5, 2015
Sango Reef natives and tourists from all over Mistica are living it up in the Pit! Some lucky folks have also stumbled upon lovely souvenirs to take home. However, some individuals who wandered deeper into the Pit have made scattered accounts of ominous scratching and screeching noises. We’d like to advise everyone to please remain careful and cautious when visiting the Pit! Keep an eye on your valuables, walk together in pairs, and keep your eyes and ears open for any peculiar phenomena.
A Chance Encounter
Posted: September 4, 2015
For many citizens of Sango Reef, as the day winds to a close, so too do the constants of their lives. Anemone once more passes through her wares and displays, making sure that there is no accessory left askew, and no mannequin left haggard. She dims the lights slightly so no one will be enticed to enter, before continuing to close up shop.
Anemone stiffens while locking up her more valuable items, suddenly hyper-aware of the presence in the surroundings behind her. She turns, and after squinting at the back of the stranger who has entered her shop — well, speaking of haggard, wow — she glances pointedly, not that the new presence would notice, at the clock on the wall. It’s a little difficult to see from where she stands, with this lighting, but she’s trying to let on that she’s not pleased. Anemone tears her eyes and ears away from the ticking of the clock and watches the stranger in complete silence. Correction: almost complete silence.
“...such fine whipstitching, and my, the material is so lightweight,” the stranger murmurs, both delighted and awestruck. Never one to distance herself from anyone’s praise, Anemone inches ever closer. She supposes that maybe the stranger makes ‘haggard’ as a style, work. Lost in her thoughts and maybe having come a little bit too close, Anemone almost falls victim to the stranger, who turns abruptly to address her.
“I’d like -- oh, my, are you alright?” The stranger sheepishly glances up at Anemone from beneath their fringe; their eyes are bright and shining with laughter, but Anemone feels no animosity. She nods and clears her throat before finding her voice.
“That’s an excellent choice.” Anemone gestures towards the simple pouch, a deep blue accentuated by gold embroidering, in the stranger’s grasp. She notices that their fingers are elegant but calloused, though doesn’t let her mind wander again; somehow, she finds it easy to relax around her would-be assailant.
“I’ll,” she glances towards the locked door of the shop’s backroom, where her register is stored. She can still feel irritation bubbling deep in her belly that someone would come in while she was closing.
“You know what? It’s on the house. Don’t worry about it.” By no means is it good business sense, but this is Anemone’s storefront, and it’s fine by her.
“You’re sure?” The stranger’s eyebrows disappear behind their fringe, and Anemone nods, a smile tugging at her lips.
“Oh, thank you, that’s very -- thank you.”
“Yes, I am. Thank you for your business, please come back soon!” She waves, timidly, as the stranger exits, and then finds herself meeting their gaze. The brightness in their eyes seemed to have traveled throughout their whole body. She’s pleased.
“I do. I will! I plan on it.” The stranger salutes Anemone, and though she felt irritation before, she felt fond laughter softly bubbling out of her.
Blessed September!
Posted: September 1, 2015
No one anticipated the cron issues, but we are all so happy to come through it with flying colors! Thank you all your patience in the meantime!
We have two new blessed pets for this month!
The overgrowth gurahdi has changed with the seasons. They had sought out Pandoria. The gurahdi expressed their love of the autumn time as the leaves changed color, and the world seemed to slow down a bit after all the fun of the spring and summer. Pandoria granted their wish, and the result could not have been any more breathtaking!
~~~~~~~~~~

The frost zisscor on the other hand, had fled from the depths of the ocean to implore Pandoria for help. The request was simple, to combat their fear of the frightful depths of the ocean and the strangeness that had been sensed, they asked Pandoria to transform their visage to something terrifying. The zisscor hoped to help dispel any that would intrude upon their lair.

If you are owed for a Blessed Pet in September, be sure to mail Pandoria onsite with the name of your pet who will receive the blessing!

More September fun is on the way!
