Mistica Chronicles

Welcome to Issue 34

Unnamed Winning Entry

I couldn't bare to leave her there,
Her solid golden form,
Her expression blank as her vacant stare,
Her limbs not able to move.

She was once a very lovely swine,
Who sat outside my home,
With a smiling face and eyes that shine,
Now she stood idle without life.

Ever since I was a boy I'd like to try,
Making the purest gold from lead,
But since to lead was found to buy,
I used living things instead.

From a happy pig she turned to gold,
Her beauty now looks plastic,
Now you can find her being sold,
As a Yellow Piggybank.
