I discovered Mistic back in January of 2008 when I was referred by my best friend. When I first joined, I thought, "Well, it looks nice, but it's just another petsite. I'm sure I'll get bored after a few weeks and move on." Boy, was I wrong. It's been nearly three years now and I'm still here, still totally hooked. What Mistic may lack in age and size, it more than makes up for in spirit and dedication to its members. There are so many other sites out there that only seem to care about making money and gaining more members. The staff are never seen, and you feel like just another statistic. Nobody really knows anybody, nobody really cares about anybody. It's easy to get lost, feel alone, and simply quit playing. This is definitely NOT the case on Mistic. The small community is one of Mistic's best assets. When chatting on the forums, there are so many familiar faces. Even if you don't personally know certain users, you've seen them around and know who they are. The staff are an integral part of the community and can be seen all over the forums. Instead of being hired hands who do nothing but work for the website, they are users just like everyone else and are often available to help out and answer questions. Another great thing about the staff here is that they actually listen to the users. People are encouraged to make suggestions, many of which are hastily and wonderfully implemented. Everything is always changing, always improving. What's more, the community here is so warm and friendly to everyone. People can post personal stories knowing that they will be supported rather than made fun of or ignored. You can really get to know people here. Even the pets and themes are beautiful. There are so many to choose from, and unlike other sites, it won't cost an arm and a leg to obtain many of the pets you want. While you have the option to pay real money for items to create or change the theme of your pets, those of us who lack the option to donate to the site can still purchase credits by converting MC, the site's currency, to MP which can be used to buy Pandoria boxes, Pet slot coins, etc. This levels the playing field for everyone and makes the site so much more inviting to newcomers. It's simply a wonderful little corner of the web. The pets are great, the community is great, and I guarantee that once you join, you'll never want to leave!
