Welcome to Issue 1
puredream Winning Entry
Saddened and humbled
Was your heart
Down the path you stumbled
In the dust you wish to crumble
From happiness forever parted
But do not fear dear child
For this world is a funny place
Soon the burdens pained and trialed
Will begin to seem so mild
Wipe the tears on the face
Giving is what joy must take
For happiness shall you yours to make
And disappears your wants and aches
Oh dear humbled one
If I would grant you one wish
To see the rising sun
In bright glow rather then dark you shun
And gently take you in a kiss
The world has so many gifts
Friends and families to name a few
Of pleasures that come upon so swift
To lift you high so you can drift
Upon the gentle dew
The greatest joy
I find is this
Not the getting of a toy
Nor anothers happiness is destroyed
But rather then giving up a wish
Bright and modest
Is your heart
Down the path you coexist
With creatures of such bliss
From despair forever parted
Rid yourself of the greedy snake
For so happiness shall you yours to take
And disappears your wants and aches
