This Month in Mistica: April '11
Written By Caustic

This Month in Mistica is a quick guide to everything that’s happened on site in the past month. Whether you’re new and want a better idea of what goes on here, an older user who’s returning, or simply too lazy to read the news, this article has all - okay, most - of the information you need!

April began in a flurry of bright paper fish and shiny boxes for Poisson D'Avril! Did you push that big red button?

Of course the springtime goodies released on the 4th were no joke! All the old favorites came back for your collecting pleasure.

But not even the return of those items could outshine the other event of that day: PaulSonny's birthday! He endures his long captivity in the basement just so Mistica can work properly -- that's dedication, people.

Three days later our beloved pets got a few changes. Charitee decided that each user is now limited to abandoning only one pet per day, and now, your active pet must meet minimum requirements for hunger and mood or you'll be restricted in your site activities (mostly games).

The next day we celebrated the wonderful Skillow! The usual pinata and items made an appearance, the visual was released, as were two new items.

And on the 11th Rosebud showed up to remind us all about Pandoria's birthday! She began stocking all the items required for making colored eggs, and Plain Eggs also appeared in Sunny's shop.

The next day, the hunt was on! Glittering Bejewelled Eggs were released, and every hour one was hidden somewhere on the site. Did you manage to find all six? While you were hunting, did you notice some shops stocking a bit more to encourage sales?

Everyone rushed for PNTs and PSCs on the 13th as thousands of accounts were cleared! A special item, the Magical Bean, was also released as a Credit Shop item to increase your pet's collection by four items.

Unfortunately the next day our servers had some power problems, but we were up and running again quickly! Maybe the new Storm Belragoth released that day had something to do with it? A few hints were given that Champion users would be getting a sneak peek at something special soon; did you give in to temptation and get a Champion Dust or Super Champion Pendant?

King Blithe outdid himself this year! On the 15th he came up with dozens of lovely new Ribboned Eggs, and Rosebud began stocking Plain Ostara Ribbons.

Two days later, the Society for the Preservation of the Natural Habitat of Misticpals made some noise in Raziela! They seemed to have settled in, and only the Champion members knew what was going on -- for now...

The next day we got a little info about Misticpets being involved in conservation efforts (I think SPNHM had something to do with that).

And, on the 19th, Writer applications opened up! The chatbox also got a lovely new revamp -- go and check it out!

A whole host of new springtime goodies were released on the 21st -- bunnies, chickeedees of every flavor (but not for eating!), lollipops and even a new Ostara Book!

And on the 24th, we celebrated the wonderful Pandoria's birthday! She opened up her shop to reward us for the eggs we brought her, and inside was not only her usual selection of weapons, pals, food and books, but new hatchipals, an avatar and even a mysterious item called Her Hope. Pandoria Goody-bags made their way around the site, and in Pandoria's normal shop a bunch of new hatchipals were released.

Two days later Makoto seemed to be trying to steal Pandoria's thunder. He was seen wandering the beach at night, apparently bringing select people to his hidden shop, Illicit Gains. Even Officer Coppa can't find that greedy anya to stop him -- can you? If you manage it, some treasures can be found, but only for the very rich...

On the 28th Officer Coppa again failed to track down Makoto's black market, but at least we know his prices: that sneaky feline is pricing his items at a flat 100% mark-up. On a lighter note, three new Ostara themed avatars were released, so you've got some hunting to do!

And on the 29th, Charitee got a hold of some new items for those dedicated donators -- both for Loyalty Points and just for reaching a certain amount of items donated.

This month started off with tricks but we were soon drowning in treats -- avatars, chocolate and candy, mysterious new hatchipals -- it was as if Lanturnaucht came early (without the creepiness). May is going to have a tough job topping this month!
