"You've got the plague, I hear.
I'm here to help you."
Victoria takes a seat in the cramped, polished one-room house. The Doctor tips his hat and rests his cane on the floor.
"I have a black soul. I can't be saved," Victoria mutters hopelessly.
The Doctor rolls his bright eyes behind the large red eye-glasses and adjusts his gas mask full of herbs.
"You still have hope here."
The girl stares at the grey floor below her and clutches the old table. The Doctor looks her straight in the eye, and she shudders.
The Doctor pokes around at the lumps near her lymph node areas and says calmly, "It looks like the plague will take its toll. Get some rest."
The next day, Victoria pays a visit to the Doctor again. He asks her how she is feeling. She feels terrible... and the same.
"This is worse than I thought," the cloaked doctor mutters, "I'm going to have to drain some of your blood to remove the source of the disease."
Reluctantly, she agrees, and he pricks a vein and drains the blood into a bucket.
On her next visit, he asks how the frail young lady how she feels now.
"Worse than before the procedure, I'm afraid."
He nods, and proceeds to leech more blood.
The same effects occur every visit. The symptoms worsen every minute.
The last visit she has with the Doctor, she knocks on his door and nobody opens up. The door creaks open on its own. His mask lies on the doorstep with a crumpled scrap of paper:
"A ring around o' roses,
A pocket full o' posies-
Ashes, ashes, we all fall down."
Out of no where, he grabbed her and injected something vermilion.

I have named myself Liam. I don't remember growing up at all. In fact, I've looked the same my entire life as I do now. After much pain and thought, I've come to realize that I have not been consumed by a disease, but that I am one. In order to be a disease, I also know, have, and am the living cure. I saw the girl, Victoria, and knew she was too great to dispose of. So, I injected a syringe-full of my blood into her system. Now we are a pair, we are one. We created a bloodline that shall run forever, for apeiron.
