Nixie - A female shapeshifting water spirit who can take on the appearance of female human, but whose real form is that of a river mermaid.

* Nyx is an unique type of shapeshifting euryhaline mermaids with bioluminescent-scales [her species ancestors had evolved from the river mermaids and can now move from fresh to salt water easily, causing them to become unique euryhaline-type mermaids. They now live a majority of their life in salt water and only cross back to fresh water in case there is an emergency or mating purposes]
* As she is a shapeshifter, she is able to shift into quite a few forms, however, all of them are aquatic-based [except her human form, but she does retain some elements of being linked to her water form]. Her prized transformation, besides her ability to shift into a human to move on land, is to shift into a water dragon [which resembles her pet companion, Kai] that is 2 times larger than her mermaid form, but doing this drains her energy and she is restricted in using this power in deep bodies of water only
* Prized possession is a large pearl that she found in one of her travels
* she is able to control water
* carnivore, eats a variety of fish from several different layers of the ocean
* will turn human if she is removed from the water and and turn back into a mermaid if she comes into contact with water
* euryhaline mermaids are still in the process of perfecting their human forms to look exactly like regular humans due to being hunted by 'mystical sea creature' poachers, which include all types of humanoid -like beings [these poachers are one of the many sections of mystical animal hunters that hunt certain or select 'cryptids' for materials like scales or fur, ect]
* the spines on her webbed fins contain a paralytic venom/poison that she is able to use to disable her opponents [to a point, depends on how tolerant her opponents are to poison] when she is on the defensive
[mermaid form - can't talk while in mermaid form as they only communicate through their bioluminescent scales body language and a different assortment of screeches and cries, scales cover most of her body, webbed fingers with sharp claws, finned ears, long webbed spiny fins forming along her spine, elbows, wrists and hips, sharp fang-like teeth, scales are black, purple and light blue, long raven black hair, pale skin that looks like a combination of both light purple and blue, tail fin is long and flowing, light blue eyes
human form - light blue eyes, always damp long raven black hair, goes barefoot, always seems to smell like the ocean breeze, scale-like strapless bra top and scale-like half-skirt where the scales hold the same coloration as her scales in her mermaid form, pale skin that can shine a combination of light purple and blue when the light hits it just right, sharp nails and teeth, spine, arms and back of legs retain a smaller ridge of webbed spines that resemble strange tattoo-like bands (or scar) until it flares open when she is angered or on edge]
