"As every cat owner knows, nobody owns a cat"

Once upon a time there was a little kitten beside the road. She was emaciated and starving, not to mention scared. A young woman came home, after high school, and saw this little thing. Her heart immediately went out to the small creature. Picking the small female kitten up gently, she carried her home down the long dirt road.

For the next few hours, the female kept the kitten in the garage and played with her. She let her play with some shoe strings, and even gave it a little bit of food. Upon the time of the girls parents arriving home from work, the mother inspected the kitten after hearing the news. With a heart full of nothing but love, the mother allowed this girl to keep the little kitten.

Crying out with glee, the female brought the kitten inside and started to make a list of things it would need. Three pages later and a Walmart trip down the road, the kitten had her a home. One that was forever hers and no more would that kitten have to worry about being alone and abandoned by the road.

The female brainstormed names for the rest of the night until her mom came up with something. Her mom suggested the name "LC" which would stand for "Lost Cat". This made the girl laugh but she decided it actually fit. So after a bit of refining from the girl to make it a proper name, the female kitten was given an name; Elsie.

Years later that small kitten grew into a beautiful 7 year old cat. She might be a little bipolar but still full of a ton of love for her owner. Even to this day her owner still loves her with all her heart because she will always be her baby.

There are many things she loves to do. For starters, Elsie loves to sit in the triple bay windows and watch the hummingbirds fly across the window panes. She will meow and give off this light cat call as if trying to entice them inside to her. She also really loves green beans that grow in the garden. The girls mom would pick them and lay the bucket on the counter and before you know it there will be one or two beans being batted around the floor where the brown stripped creature will be running after them full of happiness.

Then you have your medical conditions that evolved over the few years. To her owner's surprise, Elsie was allergic to fleas. Which meant that she had to have regular bathes. Though instead of doing it like all people do, her owner decided that she was going to put her in the shower with her to give her a proper bath with her medicated shampoo, in which Elsie clung to her neck like a small infant. They really are bitter-sweet moments bath time. Then you also have the random whiskers that are left around the house for her owner to step on. Never walk around barefoot with Elsie in the house, or you might just be impaled on a fallen whisker.

Though recently.... something sad happened. Her owner had to go away to college in the mountains, five hours from her. She wasn't allowed to bring Elsie with her. So in those final days she packed, stripping Elsie away of everything she knew; the bed, the pillows she loved to lay on, the pens she always stole, and packed it up in a uhaul.

Her owner wished her a very tearful goodbye but promised to return in two years and visit on breaks from college. Even though they are apart, you can still feel their love. The love of a fur baby and the love of the human who owns her. Or in the opinion of Elsie, the love of the human who thinks she owns her.
