This Month in Mistica: July '14
Written By Fay

This Month in Mistica is a quick guide to everything that’s happened on site in the past month. Whether you’re new and want a better idea of what goes on here, an older user who’s returning, or simply too lazy to read the news, this article has all -- okay, most -- of the information you need!

July began with the release of the lovely ruby Kohal and our first Legacy Vending Token Raffle winner! Monty’s Jade Emporium also moved and changed up its requirements for entry.

The summer heat didn’t deter the Oceanic Kohal from making its debut on the 2nd! Gurahdia were also released in small batches throughout the day for free creation.

On the 3rd we got a Hero Rat update. The Vending Machine and Credit Shop also got new monthly stock.

The 4th was of course, Independence Day! Lots of seasonal items were released, and we might have set a few things on fire in the staff basement, because we also had Oceancrest’s birthday to celebrate! A very patriotic Sailor Doll was released for her.

The Wishing Well granted some wishes on the 5th.

On the 8th, several Mistican shopkeepers released new food, some of it gourmet.

The 9th sent hedgehogs dancing with delight; it was Zarabeythe’s birthday! Some weird magic went down and the staff lost their souls, but hey, there was cake.

Apparently the shopkeepers were so stressed out on the 10th there was problems with their stock, but that all got resolved and everyone celebrated with the new Martini released in Mistic Cuisine.

New collections were made on the 11th.

For reasons unknown Mistic got its very own Ball Pit in the Games Garden on the 14th. Maybe if your Baby pet was particularly good they could enjoy an hour in there. In other news, the art team was also expanded to include three new members: Mochaspar, Moonchild25 and Predator!

The next day the Strange Traveler – who we now know is actually named Dakota Jones – received a visit from Alan Yehxil. Maury delivered a note to the yehxil from the gargoyle chief, Blackrock, asking for help excavating the “Lost Door.”

More wishes were granted on the 16th.

On the 17th the Traveler made the decision to help Alan.

New books were made available for reading on the 19th.

On the 20th, Dakota Jones and Alan Yehxil were on their way to visit Chief Blackrock, Guardian of the Lost Door.

The 21st was the birthday of our wonderful Immortal! Tormic released a new pal in Forest Misticpals to celebrate. Dakota and Alan also completed their journey and met the gargoyle chief, who turned out to be a rough but intelligent character. He let them see Metropolis Quarry and told them to wait on the Gurahdi leader, Raimia; her magic would lead them to the dig site.

As promised, the next day Gurahdi Chief Raimia led Dakota and Alan to the dig site. It was basically a mountain that literally needed to be moved. All of Mistica decided to help Dakota and Alan with such a huge task, and we also chose sides (Sprite or Imp).

We were still digging on the 23rd as the Daydream and Nightmare Ahbruis were released!

On the 24th we met Soraya and Perryn, two Kohals who had escaped Queen Boreal. A jeweler and blacksmith, they had come to the quarry hoping that they would be able to set up shop with all the digging going on.

Two days later the Lost Door was finally revealed. Raimia, Dakota and Alan entered.

We went inside the first room of the repository on the 28th. Raimia pointed out various artifacts and Dakota studied an odd skeleton. He discovered there was more than just the one room, and Raimia asked for books to study up.

Queen Boreal made an early appearance this year. After finding out Perryn and Soraya were planning on profiting off the skills she had given them when she made them, the queen was determined to get them back. Still weakened by the attack from General Flintleaf, Boreal visited Mephitic to join forces, promising him spells and the possibility of defeating the Sprites if he used his Imps to kidnap her Kohals.

A cliffhanger! I wonder what August will bring?
