This Month in Mistica: October '13
Written By Fay

This Month in Mistica is a quick guide to everything that’s happened on site in the past month. Whether you’re new and want a better idea of what goes on here, an older user who’s returning, or simply too lazy to read the news, this article has all -- okay, most -- of the information you need!

Jahzara started off October with the legend of the Jinx curse. While she spun her spooky tale, the rest of Mistica geared up for Lanturnacht with seasonal releases.

On the 2nd, the Vending Machine and Credit Shop were updated, and the Opal Kohal was released.

The next day Spotlight winners were announced and the last batch of pet facts was released. Showing up a little early for Lanturnacht, the Phantom Ricket was also discovered!

That night Jahzra began a new story about Jasper and Gregory’s beginnings. But with all the talking her voice gave out! Misticans gathered a few items to help her and received a new book in return.

Sebastian released some creepy new popsicles on the 4th, and the Mistican Excellence Award was given to RuthieRox.

October 5th was the birthday of our wonderful Nine! Tormic began stocking a gorgeous new pal to honor the occasion. Kandie came out with delicious new candy dots, and the Credit Shop had a sale and bonuses going on.

That night, Archie, worried about his brother’s curse, presented Jasper with money and demanded the circus back. Jasper wasn’t pleased by this and rightly refused. The fight escalated, with Archie claiming Jasper to be under a curse.

On the 8th, Aibrean appeared to release new Library books and host her monthly quiz!

The next day, Jasper wandered his circus and ran into Valerie, but was too distracted to listen to her. He didn’t even notice the new Lanturn Jumboyo dancing around with its head in its arms.

The 10th marked the start of trick-or-treating! New candy, Candy Bowls, knockers, and pommekin stencils were released.

It turns out Valerie left the popcorn machine running, attracting a horde of Lanturats! It was up to us to catch them all, and maybe find some candy bowls in the process.

The 12th was pet day, celebrating the Inarbu, Jinx and Belragoth. The Storm Inarbu found it appropriate to make its first appearance, along with a furry new pomme and many new species-themed items!

Jimbo was introduced on the 14th with his Lava Fishing game.

The next day, the mysterious Phantom Jumboyo was released.

It was a sad day on the 16th as Jasper wrestled with misgivings about his supposed curse. The Lanturats had done so much damage that the circus had to be closed. Luckily, the Lanturn Kirui was there to cheer us up, and with him came the lovely October Monarch Tag!

With Jasper’s Circus closed, Albrecht opened his Chamber of Evil on the 17th. Two new items were placed inside to entice new customers.

On the 18th, there was more trouble at the circus as everyone tried to figure out a way to repair all the damage. Jimbo ended up collecting supplies gathered by Misticans and their new, well-trained Lanturats! Albrecht wasn’t happy about this and added new items to his Chamber to distract Misticans from helping.

The 21st saw the addition of a new flash game: LanturTRAP! That evening, a busy Albrecht added even more items to the Chamber.

But the koko’s efforts were in vain. The very next day Jasper announced the reopening of the circus (with new food!), save for Lava Fishing as the lava had boiled over. We had even more to celebrate: Geekgirl’s birthday! An adorable new pal began stocking at Tormic’s in her honor.

On the 23rd we raffled off classic 4th Anniversary charms.

The next day Jasper was alone and acting worried. Archie, wandering the circus grounds, disappeared!

On the 25th Albrecht went all out stocking up the Chamber of Evil. Shopkeepers all over Mistica began stocking new Lanturnacht-themed items as well.

It didn’t take Jasper long to realize Archie was missing, and on the 26th he was advised by Belladonna to check the Chamber.

On the 28th the charm raffle winners were announced, and some extras went on sale. That night, Misticans flocked to the Chamber in search of Archie, and found pieces of his clothing.

The next day, Jasper and Skreetch went deep into the Chamber in search of Archie. Ivy took over at the circus and opened Lanturnacht Loot.

On the 30th, Jasper and Skreetch were led to Archie, chained in the Chamber, by the spirits of Jasper’s deceased pals.

With Archie back, Lanturnacht day was a joyous affair. Ivy got the brothers to reconcile, and Jasper put on a last show for his guests.
