This Month in Mistica: June '13
Written By Caustic

This Month in Mistica is a quick guide to everything that’s happened on site in the past month. Whether you’re new and want a better idea of what goes on here, an older user who’s returning, or simply too lazy to read the news, this article has all -- okay, most -- of the information you need!

June began with a plethora of new and old items in the Credit Shop and Vending Machine. And while the imps and sprites of Darkwood Hollow remained quiet, things were a little hectic in the Diamond Glacier Domain! Queen Boreal finally spotted pearl kohals trying to hide in the snow and kicked them out, along with quite a few of their brethren.

On the 2nd, we celebrated Pesticide’s birthday and Zaffy released a cute (creepy?) new pal just for the occasion!

Prizes for the pillow fight were awarded on the 3rd.

The next day, we congratulated all the graduates of 2013! Special prize pillows were also given out.

The following night the stars seemed to come alive, and the Zodiac Inarbu was discovered!

On the 7th, Lance (rather unwillingly) stocked his high-class shelves with several different styles of jeans. He won’t touch the things himself, however. According to him true gentlemen wear trousers.

Seht paid us a brief visit on the 10th, trying to start chaos by bringing back the nightmare pals, but their daydream counterparts piggybacked on his magic and made a comeback too!

The next day a few odd kitties were seen around the Banshee Swamp. Being hairless, Zaffy thought they’d be far easier to care for than some of his other pals and decided to market them as hypoallergenic. Meanwhile, the Toy Factory began stocking d20’s for the imaginative Misticans amongst us.

The Zodiac Phelocan made its appearance on the 13th, and to celebrate, Pet Slot Coins went on sale!

The next day Ben Baggz released a bunch of new Risylki beanbags, and on the 15th Aibrean began her monthly book quiz and library release.

We celebrated all the awesome dads out there on Father’s Day with a truly guytastic contraption. It’s a dinosaur, it’s a robot – a robo-dinosaur! It’s only flaw is being a herbivore and not a vicious tyrannosaurus, but we’re sure any dad worth his salt can supply the necessary scary sound effects, even if they’re not quite realistic.

The 17th was so close to summer that the Sea Witch couldn’t help releasing a few warm weather toys, for kelpies and land-dwellers alike! The Pomme Tree also stepped things up and a new Overgrowth Pomme was discovered hiding amongst its branches.

Two days later we began hiring new moderators. The first Mistica Excellence Award was also given to Massacrex3 for true bravery in the face of a nasty spam attack!

Makoto was strolling along the beach – presumably to track down that lost smuggled shipment of Oceanic boxes a few shady kelpies promised to deliver – when he reported some odd lightning. Turns out this sticky-fingered feline discovered the Storm Risylki!

Harmony is usually all for making lots of noise, but on the 21st she released a line of headphones just in case your neighbors don’t feel the same way. For more quiet fun, there’s also Banding Together, a book filled with just as many puns as the title suggests.

The next day, there was a small Obsideon release!

On the 25th Keilly released some delicious new breakfast foods. Darkwood Hollow finally began to stir as the imps and sprites gathered forces, taking sides, but not yet drawing battle lines or shouting insults about one another’s bad haircuts.

New avatars and collections were released on the 26th. Time to go hunting!

On the 27th, there were reminders about Mistica’s social media pages, so go crazy with your tweeters and Facepages – you could actually win stuff!

Ben showed that summer was truly blooming with a gorgeous and colorful new selection of flowery beanbags.

So far, things have been peaceful, but with the imps and sprites taking sides who knows what July has in store?
