Swarming Znakes Terrorize Small Town
Written By Fallout

As Whacking Day approaches, so do the hordes of unarmed and defenseless znakes that wander into residential neighborhoods on their annual migrations to their summer homes. Many Misticans prepare themselves for the upcoming “holiday” by arming themselves with sticks and setting traps around their homes to rid themselves of these pesky reptiles. Many more set out on a mission to protect the znakes from frequent and often unprovoked assaults by rescuing them and giving them a home. It's such a frequent occurrence that most Misticans have become desensitized to the fear that the znakes once caused in their lives.

For one small town that fear is still very much alive.

Not normally on the migration path of most znakes, a tiny little riverside town by the name of Little Creek typically only sees a few znakes every year. According to Little Creek police records, the most seen in a single Whacking season is about 20, compared to the hundreds seen daily in many other parts of Mistica. This year, however, something changed. Realizing that the town was unprepared for them and less likely to be armed with whacking sticks, several families of znakes decided to take the scenic route to their destination and cut right through the tiny, unsuspecting town.

“I was so frightened!” one woman shrieked. “I came outside and they were just sitting there on my porch, trying to eat my pets! I thought they were both goners!” Pictures taken at the scene in question showed a happy family of znakes resting in the sun with a pair of Anyai. One Anya seemed to be snuggling with a baby znake and was reportedly purring.

“They were in the fountain,” another resident said of the znakes that had to be evicted from the Skillow fountain in the front of his residence, “so don't drink the water.”

“I don't know why you guys are complaining. I think they're kind of cute,” a bright eyed child said with an armful of znakes and a smile on his face. He was immediately hushed by his grandmother, who made him put them all down and turned his smile into a frown.

A squadron of police armed with humane whacking sticks had to be sent in to hurry the znakes along. This didn't stop the onslaught of migrating znakes as more seemed to be pouring in by the hour. It wasn't long before a shifty little Anya in a black trench coat moved in and began taking advantage of the situation to sell overpriced whacking sticks to the frightened population.

“Anyone want a free znake?” the town's mayor asked desperately from an overrun office.
