This Month in Mistica: December '12
Written By Caustic

This Month in Mistica is a quick guide to everything that’s happened on site in the past month. Whether you’re new and want a better idea of what goes on here, an older user who’s returning, or simply too lazy to read the news, this article has all -- okay, most -- of the information you need!

MeriKlaus emerged to wish everyone a Merry Mistmas and open her Advent Calendar. We also celebrated the birthdays of gemajgall and Skyleigh; a Warm Tarinooki Hat and Amati were released just for them!

Two days later the Vending Machine got an update, Spotlight winners were announced, and the turquoise Kohal was released.

Ivy was strolling through the circus grounds the next day and found some disturbing things. Queen Boreal also noticed an odd presence in her kingdom and sent out a party of kohal to investigate. Meanwhile, MeriKlaus was quite unaware of all this and released several teacup ornaments in honor of Mistica’s latest birthday.

Some weird things were going on, but that didn’t stop the Wintergala Aetra from showing up on the 5th! Some old Mistmas favorites also came back in the shops.

The reef wasn’t about to let Mistmas pass them by, and on the 6th, Daniel released some tasty looking ribbon coral candy. And if you’ve been unsuccessful in catching a Caribyss, maybe one of the new rubber Caribyss toys can fill the void?

The next day the Plague Caribyss made an appearance, the Credit Shop had a sale and four new default avatars were released.

MeriKlaus began to feel like she was being watched on the 9th. She also received a cryptic warning from King Blithe. Unfortunately, he sent it a bit too late; the very next day Jasper was seen (sans Gregory) with the Advent Calendar. MeriKlaus had disappeared and Jasper’s idea of Mistmas gifts weren’t very traditional.

The Wintergala Gourix was discovered on the 11th.

On the 12th, Archie and the circus finally found out where Jasper had got to, and everyone was quite confused. Why this sudden interest in Mistmas? Not to mention no one knew where Gregory was, and Archie was sure the hat and the jinx needed to be reunited. To offset this grim news, Webbed Candy Canes made their way into Rosebud’s shop.

That night, Queen Boreal found herself wondering if Jasper, in his insanity, could be useful to her. What she didn’t see was the blazing comet that was Aurelius streaking towards Mistica!

By the 14th Jasper had successfully taken hold of Mistmas. He even dressed the part (sort of)! Not content with tampering with the Advent gifts, he also released a bunch of new, creepy decorations.

Three days later Aurelius landed and was startled to see the change in Mistmas. He hurried to see King Blithe. In the Diamond Glacier Domain, Queen Boreal sent off kohals laden with mysterious supplies.

In an attempt to normalize Mistmas, Harmony released a beautiful new set of Sleigh Bells on the 18th.

Two days later, Archie found an important clue as to Gregory’s whereabouts: a trail of green slime! We all followed the goopy mess in the hopes of finding the hat.

While everyone searched, Jasper was busy creating more spooky ornaments released on the 21st. New gift bags and boxes for wrapping presents in were also released, and the Delight Pixie was flying around and dropping Mystery Giftbags and Presents on our heads.

The next day we found Gregory, but the poor thing was frozen solid in ice! Aurelius and King Blithe sent Misticans out to search for specific hot items that would help thaw him. Meanwhile, under cover of darkness, Jasper slipped away.

Gregory was finally thawed on the 24th, and agreed to help Aurelius and King Blithe get Jasper back. That night, he used his spiritual connection to Jasper to track down his base, and there they met a very unhinged jinx. After getting Gregory back on Jasper’s head, Aurelius figured that Queen Boreal has MeriKlaus.

On Mistmas, Aurelius, King Blithe and Jasper traveled to Boreal’s icy palace and demanded MeriKlaus back. They were met with silence, but MeriKlaus was able to break out from within, setting King Kohal free to rampage through the castle. The four escaped as Queen Boreal tried to control the damage. Back home, MeriKlaus thanked Mistica for their help and gave out Antique Pet Slot Coins and Title Badges as thank you gifts. As a last surprise, the Wintergreen Gourix was discovered!

Two days later Jasper found himself having to face his employees. He explained himself and apologized, and while no one was quite happy with him, they seemed to accept it. We also celebrated Moon’s birthday, and Tormic released a fiery little dragon in her honor!

In the end, Mistmas was Mistmas and everyone was back where they belonged. Jasper is no doubt planning for an explosive Lanturnacht next year, but for now we have a whole new year to look forward to!
