5 Reasons Why the Sprites Will Win This Year
Written By Caustic

Every year, like clockwork, the colorful Sprites and twisted Imps go at each other’s throats. The last team standing wins, earning bragging rights for the entire year! Despite Pandoria’s dismay with these constant wars, nothing can make peace between these two groups, and this spring is no different.

Usually, there’s some question about who will win. Solving riddles, buying the proper plot items, tossing innocent pals into the fray to do the dirty work – all these tasks seem evenly matched between the two sides.

But not this year. No, this time, it’s flower growing, sewing pretty clothes and putting on a delightful feast. The Sprites have got this one. And just in case you don’t believe me, here are five specific reasons that 2011 is the year of the Imp’s doom.

1. Seriously guys. FLOWERS.

When the first task started, the Imps should’ve just thrown up their hands and admitted defeat (and then go for a manicure – seriously, those claws are disgusting). Nurturing tiny seeds to grow into big, beautiful flowers that are worthy of a princess just has “Sprite” written all over it. Most Imps probably ended up stomping all over their garden at the first sight of a stem, no matter how wilted or dark.

2. Love

This year, the Sprites are all getting behind Joel to support his vying for the hand of the lovely Princess Alana. The two adore each other, and it’s obvious true love has blossomed between them! Imps despise love and will try to crush this romance, of course, but we all know that you can’t beat the power of love. This is why Queen Boreal always loses, why Seht never took over Mistica and why Pandoria created this world in the first place. If those guys failed, those Imps with their silly pranks haven’t got a prayer.

3. Good Looks

Never underestimate the power of bright colors and regular showers – things Imps distinctly lack. Sprites easily win over the masses with their charm and humble natures, not to mention the pure power of sparkles (that’s how we recruited so many illiterate 10-year-olds)! No one can resist when confronted with something so adorable and bright.

4. Revenge

Last year, the Imps won – mind, it was close! And while Sprites may look innocent and incapable of holding a grudge, that’s not the case. No, Sprites simply channel that energy into productivity, and it fuels us for next year’s war. We want to see those disgusting Imps fall more than ever after the narrow defeat of 2010, and when coupled with the aforementioned power of love, determination is unstoppable.

5. Repeating History

The Sprites have tasted victory, back in 2009. We out-pranked the Imps (take that!) and experienced the amazing euphoria that is vanquishing your mortal enemy. That triumph has not been forgotten, and the older Sprites focus on that, fighting this year with unwavering loyalty to re-live that wonderful day of success.

So get used to rainbows, Imps. You’ll be seeing them for awhile!
