This Month in Mistica: August '11
Written By Caustic

This Month in Mistica is a quick guide to everything that’s happened on site in the past month. Whether you’re new and want a better idea of what goes on here, an older user who’s returning, or simply too lazy to read the news, this article has all -- okay, most -- of the information you need!

August was one big race between the Sprites and Imps as both teams fought to fill up their headquarters!

The 1st was the usual Treasure Box release, with some wobbly new items and avatars to match! The Vending Machine even got a little attention with the special Mephitic and Twin Wobblerz.

On the 3rd, the war began! A farmer named Joel arrived in the Mistica Kingdom to prepare it for the coming of the king, queen and his love, the princess. He implored the help of Misticans everywhere for his first task: growing flowers for a throne for a princess. The Sprites jumped in with lovely, bright flowers, but the Imps seemed to be hiding in the shadows with their own version of the flora…

Two days later the Gardening Shop, which had supplied everything for the first task, was updated, and you could even find certain Misticpals while digging around in your garden! Mod applications also opened.

The next day we were told how the Princess Alana and Joel met, and the Imps seemed to be stirring a little.

On the 9th, the headquarters for both Sprites and Imps began collecting the flowers we’d all been growing. The Sprites gave their collection to Joel for the throne, but it was unknown what the Imps needed their dark blooms for.

But the next day, we learn that the Imps stole the plans for the princess’s throne!

The 13th saw the release of the lovely Overgrown Zisscor, and progress on the flower throne. The Imps seemed to be making their own version of it, but why?

On the 15th, the contests opened with the theme of alchemy! Gardening was also updated so you could find tools as well as pals while digging.

And two days later, the Princess Alana’s throne of flowers was finally finished! Joel’s Sprite companion and royal scribe, Aibrean, then finds a note from the king on her desk, but before we find out what’s in it, the Imps show up! It turns out they finished their dark throne, and King Mephitic has some nasty plans for the Sprites – and Joel – this year.

Later that same day, Aibrean charges Maury with help for the second task, which is to get Joel a whole new wardrobe worthy of a prince! Maury starts hauling boxes of fabric and dye off to the shopkeepers for help with this, but in the rush, he drops it all! Misticans are called upon to collect the fabric and dye, take them to Blithe for coloring, and then turn them in to their respective headquarters.

On the 19th, we celebrated the birthday of Dillon200! An adorable pal of the technical kind was released for the party. The Delight Pixie even joined in, carrying a Pandoria Box and a Pet Slot Coin for some lucky Misticans!

On the 22nd, the Gardening Shop ceased stocking seeds so that everyone could focus on dying fabric, although tools stayed in stock for those still gardening.

Two days later we began turning in fabric for Joel’s royal wardrobe! Aibrean also found out about Mephitic’s throne, and wondered what he was up to.

On the 27th, there was a huge procession in the Mistica Kingdom as the king, queen and Princess Alana finally arrived! Joel and Aibrean were there to greet them. Pet modules were also updated so you can now arrange your pets using a drag and drop system.

The next day, Aibrean gave the king a full report on Joel’s progress, and King Mephitic got his Imps riled up in the shadows of Darkwood Hollow. With his own fabric and a twisted throne of dark, wilting flowers, what’s he planning?

On the 30th, the Princess Alana was plagued by nightmares of the Imps, and Aibrean fears they will try to kidnap her. The princess remained steadfast, however, unwilling to let the Imps frighten her.

And the next day, Joel was set his final task: a feast to celebrate the arrival of the royal family! Joel called for special, rare and super rare food items to be turned in from all over Mistica. And in Darkwood Hollow, King Mephitic learned of these plans, and called for his Imps to buy up the food supply so there’s nothing left for Joel!

The plot is still going, and who knows which side will win?
